Combination of Different Textures and Finishes: The silvery matte-proof finish of the dinosaur’s skull contrasts fiercely with the textured black rhodium background, giving the appearance of a freshly uncovered yet slightly-aged fossil.
Scientifically Verified: The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology has verified the fossil’s appearance on the coin for scientific accuracy.
The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in a silver matte proof finish against a black rhodium-plated background, and comes in a black clamshell box.
