Influential in the decisions and beliefs of millions of adherents over time, it is associated with many myths and legends - including The Great Race, in which 12 animals race each other to determine their zodiac position. The coin portrays the 12 lunar animals in colour. Included in the artistry are representations of sacred mountains, clouds symbolising good fortune, and plants including bamboo, daisies, sunflowers, peonies and pine trees, longstanding floral motifs in traditional Chinese art. The lunar animals surround a bagua with a black and white yin yang symbol in the middle. Featuring meticulous coloured and antiqued finishes, this 5oz silver coin represents an incredible tribute to the powerful influence of the ancient lunar calendar.
