The Official New Zealand Gold Kiwi series contains .9999 pure gold. The unique design of the 1oz Kiwi Gold by artist Rick Lewis shows New Zealand's iconic flightless bird with head held high to reflect the nations optimistic and proud spirit.

On the obverse are the four stars of the Southern Cross and the word Aotearoa, the traditional Maori name for New Zealand, meaning 'land of the long white cloud'.
